You guessed it, we have already gotten drunk. First night too - we are hard core. Raki is a Turkish liquor that tastes like liquorice. You do filter it down with water, so its not as strong Ouzo, and quite delicious.
You only need two.
They come in special glasses and I managed to charm my way to a free one.

Please, please do lots of shopping at the Grand Bazaar, drink turkish coffee and eat lots of yummy Turkish food, go see the palace back behind Hagia Sophia, and also ride down the Bosphorus on a boat. Fun times...Istanbul was one of my favorite trips ever.
ReplyDeleteMy first Richmond roommate is Turkish and back in Istanbul. I'm so jealous. I want to visit her soon! Have a great time and don't drink too much raki. I remember her fiancee introducing me to that drink!
